WINTER CHAIN // Collaborative Mixtape
I got an email from Chris of the Neon Musical Insight saying “Jimmy! I select you!”. Which at first made me feel like a Pokemon. But has I read the rest of the email I found out it was this fantastic idea from my buddy Laurent of the great music blog Pasta Primavera. It started with the strange notion of wanting to put together his first mixtape after blogging for so long. But since one of his goals moving forward is collaboration he decided that since there were so many great blogs/people/artists that he’d discovered over time he wanted to be able to work with them in some capacity. So the idea of a chain letter mixtape came to him. You know chain letters, you send a letter to a specific person, then they send it to someone else creating a lengthy chain of postage.
So to fast forward, Laurant started this by sending a track to Mike of Dead As Digital, thus taking the creation of this mixtape virtually out of his hands. So Mike then sent this to my boy Tim he sent it to another good dude Dave, etc etc. I think you get it. So the end of the day, you have 12 tracks for a collaborative mixtape that I’m super stoked to be apart of this.
Here are 12 tracks from said chain:
