Mayer Hawthorne - Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out

I think Mayer Hawthorne is one of the more underrated artists of 2009, his album Strange Arrangements made it to my favorite albums list of 2009. If you’re into the sound and feeling of soul music you’ll latch on to Mayer Hawthorne.

tuneage said “They describe this track from Detroit-born jack of all trades Mayer Hawthorne as ‘modern-retro music with a soul.’  I couldn’t agree more. But just as great as its sound is its lyrics, which make you cringe thinking about someone being dumped to this song.”

Yours Truly also did a short feature on Hawthorne while he was digging for records.
