Today is the official kickoff for my Mixtapes For Haiti project. Essentially, I am making a mix to raise money for Haiti. The plan is to make a mix, put it on a cassette tape, and donate all money after the costs of production/shipping have been deducted to Partners In Health. This way, you get something to remember your donation by. The tape will have some exclusives/tracks from upcoming releases, and it comes with a digital download (some people hate tapes/don’t have a tape deck so just pledging five bucks will get you the download) + something random. I’m in the beginning stages of putting the track listing together, and all I am going to say is ‘I get serious summer vibes’, which is good because by the time you get your tape it’ll be just around that time. The final track listing won’t be revealed until the project is nearly funded, but you can see all the artists contributing and more information at the Kickstarter page. It’s for a good cause, and I’m really happy this is all starting to materialize after a couple months of planning/organizing.
